WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
We welcome all participants from planet earth (that have access to the internet) to join our conversation.

WHAT DO I NEED TO PARTICIPATE?
Participants will need to register online and have access to a computer with good Internet connection, to enable live streaming. For the project result each team will need to fill out a written solution on DevPost (May 25th) + deliver a live pitch on Zoom or submit a video (May 26-27)

WHERE DO I FIND THE KICK-OFF WEBINAR AND THE FINAL WEBINAR?
Kick-off streams and ceremonies will be held on Hack the Crisis Iceland event facebook page.

Requirements

To wrap up the weekend of work, the hackathon will end with pitches of your creations. Your solution does not have to be technical (Webiste, app, code...) Pitches are composed of two main parts which mostly override one another in the content but have different formats:

  1. Textual pitch submission on DevPost
  2. Video pitch for the panel of judges, either:
    1. Live pitch on Zoom
    2. Submit a video
I. Textual Pitch Submission on Devpost

When your solution is ready you submit it on DevPost, not later then 25th May at 16:00 . There you have to anser 10 questions that you should prepare in advance before submitting to DevPost

  1. The problem your project solves
  2. Which challenge are you solving?
  3. Which secondary solution are you solving?
  4. The solution you bring to the table (including technical details, architecture, tools used)
  5. What you have done during the weekend
  6. The solution’s impact to the crisis
  7. The necessities in order to continue the project
  8. The value of your solution(s) after the crisis
  9. The URL to the prototype [Github, Website, other...] (optional)
  10. The URL to the pitchvideo

This needs to be submitted, alongside the video by 25th May 16:00 GMT/UTC+0.

Here's an example project page.

Here’s a video on how to submit on DevPost

II. Video Pitch

For the video part, you have two options:

  • Live pitch via Zoom meeting
  • Video pitch (youtube or other)

We encourage you to send in a video just in case if the timing of the pitching doesn’t work for you.

For the video pitch the following rules apply:

  • Maximum length of 5 minutes + 2 minutes for questions.
  • Teams should be ready to present their solution on 26. – 27. may. More detailed timing coming soon - if you can’t pitch then please make sure to send in a video.

For the rest, it is up to you, but we recommend structuring the presentation into 5 parts: the problem, the solution, what you accomplished, about the team behind it and finally what you are planning to do next. So you have 5 minutes to cover 5 topics. Please keep in mind that the problem should only focus on the Covid crisis that your solution is solving: even though your solution could be more extensive, do not focus on it.
